Stavanger [Norway], January 16: Bibisara Assaubayeva is poised to make her much-anticipated debut at the Norway Chess Women 2026, marking her first participation and making her the youngest competitor ever in this prestigious women's tournament. The reigning Women's World Blitz Champion, who has already secured three world titles, arrives in Oslo as one of the most promising young talents in the chess world.

Her journey began in 2021 when she became the youngest Women’s World Blitz Champion at the age of 17, a record that has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records. That same year, she also finished as the runner-up at the FIDE Women’s World Rapid Championship, showcasing her prowess in fast-paced formats.
The 2025 season was another landmark year for Assaubayeva, as she secured her third World Blitz title, achieved the esteemed Grandmaster title, qualified for the 2026 FIDE Women’s Candidates Tournament, and broke the 2500 rating barrier for the first time, reaching a peak rating of 2513.
