Bhiwani's Boxing Stars Shine at Commonwealth Games with Gold Medals

Every medal represents countless hours of dedication, effort, and sacrifice. The talented female boxers from Bhiwani, along with two male athletes from Hisar and Hansi, have demonstrated their commitment to excellence, achieving remarkable results that have made their coaches and families proud.
Gold Medal Winners
The female boxers who clinched gold include Sakshi Chaudhary (51kg), Preeti Pawar (54kg), Jaismine Lamboria (57kg), and Priya Ghanghas (60kg), all hailing from Bhiwani. Additionally, Arundhati Choudhary (70kg), who trains in Bhiwani but is originally from Rajasthan, also secured a gold medal. Among the male competitors, Ankush Panghal (80kg) from Hisar earned a gold medal, while Sumit Berwal (+90kg) from Sorkhi village in Hansi took home a silver medal.

The families of these medalists are not the only ones celebrating; sports fans are also visiting their homes to congratulate the parents on their children's achievements at the Commonwealth Games.
Bhiwani's Boxing Legacy
The reputation of Bhiwani as a boxing stronghold has been further solidified at the Commonwealth Games, with local women boxers winning five gold medals, including one from Rajasthan who trains in Bhiwani. The Hisar region contributed to this success with one gold and one silver medal, bringing the total to six golds and one silver in boxing.
Proud Coaches and Families
Kamal Singh Pradhan, president of the Bhiwani Boxing Club, expressed pride in the achievements of the district's athletes, stating, “We are thrilled that Bhiwani’s daughters have brought international recognition to our area. Athletes like Jaismine, who narrowly missed gold in 2022, have shown resilience and determination by winning gold this time, alongside four other talented girls, including Arundhati.”
He emphasized that these medalists deserve a grand reception upon their return to Bhiwani.
Vinod Kumar, coach and uncle of Preeti Pawar, remarked, “Preeti’s triumph is a testament to her years of disciplined training and unwavering spirit. She has consistently aimed for improvement.” He noted that this Commonwealth gold is just one of many milestones she can achieve.
Jaismine’s mother, Jogender Kaur, shared her excitement, saying, “We can’t wait to welcome Jaismine back home with her favorite Haryanvi churma. I am incredibly proud to see my daughter win a gold medal for our country.” Her father, Jaiveer, added, “She displayed exceptional confidence and skill throughout the competition, and we believe she will now aim for Olympic gold.”
