Bengaluru Open Returns for Its Milestone 10th Edition
The Bengaluru Open is gearing up for its significant 10th edition, set to unfold from January 5 to January 11, 2026, at the S M Krishna Tennis Stadium in Bengaluru. This prestigious event on the ATP Challenger Tour has established itself as one of India's leading international tennis tournaments, according to an official announcement.
In 2025, the tournament was upgraded from an ATP Challenger 100 to a Challenger 125 event, now boasting a prize pool exceeding USD 225,000. This enhancement has attracted elite players globally, ensuring a competitive atmosphere that solidifies its importance on the international tennis scene.
As the excitement of international tennis returns to Bengaluru, the 10th edition will feature Sumit Nagal, who will spearhead India's representation. A former champion of this tournament in 2017, Sumit is recognized as one of India's top singles players, with a history of Olympic participation and several ATP Challenger titles. He will be joined by Aryan Shah, a rising star in Indian tennis, whose consistent performances on the ITF and ATP Challenger circuits highlight his potential at this landmark event.
The main-draw singles acceptance list for the 2026 tournament showcases a robust lineup of international talent, including ATP Tour titleholder and former Top-100 player Pedro Martinez from Spain, Daniel Evans from Great Britain, a former ATP Top-25 player and Davis Cup regular, and South Africa's Lloyd Harris, a former Top-35 player and US Open quarterfinalist.
Additionally, the competition will feature former junior World No.1 and Australian Open boys' champion Harold Mayot from France, Davis Cup match-winner Borna Gojo from Croatia, ATP Challenger Finals champion Duje Ajdukovic from Croatia, and Cedrik-Marcel Stebe from Germany, a former ATP Top-100 player. The lineup also includes 2019 US Open boys' singles champion Jonas Forejtek from the Czech Republic.
Other notable competitors include Jay Clarke (Great Britain), Benjamin Hassan (Lebanon), Matej Dodig (Croatia), Timofey Skatov (Kazakhstan), Max Houkes (Netherlands), Ilia Simakin, Beibit Zhukayev (Kazakhstan), Petr Bar Biryukov, Matteo Martineau (France), Antoine Ghibaudo (France), Michael Geerts (Belgium), Dan Martin (Canada), and Neil Oberleitner (Austria), showcasing the depth and competitiveness of the international field.
