Bengaluru FC Faces Inter Kashi in Upcoming ISL Match

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], March 21: Bengaluru FC is gearing up to return to Kolkata as they prepare to take on Inter Kashi, who are making their debut in the Indian Super League (ISL), at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan this Sunday.

The Blues are coming off a hard-fought 0-0 stalemate against Mohun Bagan Super Giant at their home ground, the Sree Kanteerava Stadium. Meanwhile, Inter Kashi will be eager to turn their fortunes around after suffering two straight losses to Mumbai City FC and Jamshedpur FC, as noted in a statement from Bengaluru FC.

Last week, Renedy Singh's squad became the first to halt the Mariners' impressive four-match winning streak in the ISL, showcasing remarkable determination and skill in front of their supporters.

In contrast, Kashi faced a setback against Mumbai City FC, losing 2-1 after a goal from Lalrinzuala Chhangte shortly after halftime.

Renedy expressed his expectations for the match, stating, “I anticipate they will come at us aggressively, as they put up a strong fight against FC Goa and Mumbai City FC. However, we have trained thoroughly and are prepared for the challenge.”

Antonio Lopez Habas, a seasoned figure in the ISL, previously clinched the title in both 2014 and 2019 with ATK and ATK Mohun Bagan, respectively.

Currently, Inter Kashi occupies the eighth position with five points from five matches and aims to narrow the gap with Bengaluru FC, who sit sixth with eight points.

It’s worth noting that Habas will be absent from the sidelines due to a red card received in the match against Mumbai City, which could significantly impact his team's performance against the Blues.

Defender Ricky Meetei commented on his readiness for the upcoming matches, saying, “I have been preparing diligently for all games. The next match will be challenging, but I am ready to step up and support the team whenever the coach needs me.”
