Bengaluru Blasters Secure Victory Against Coastal Kings

Mysuru (Karnataka) [India], June 24: In an exciting encounter at the DACSS Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20, Bengaluru Blasters emerged victorious against Coastal Kings Mangaluru by 20 runs, maintaining their lead at the top of the standings with six points from four matches. This defeat marked the first loss for Coastal Kings in three games, dropping them to third place with three points.


The Blasters set a formidable target, scoring 226 runs for the loss of six wickets, with significant contributions from nearly all their top and middle-order batsmen, as reported by the KSCA.


Coastal Kings struggled from the outset, losing opener Nikin Jose in the very first over, and their captain Karun Nair soon followed, scoring just 10 runs, leaving them at 23-2 within 3.3 overs. Their situation worsened as they found themselves at 97-5 by the 12th over.


Just when it seemed the match was slipping away, Suraj Ahuja mounted a valiant effort, turning the game into a nail-biter.


The 26-year-old played a remarkable innings, finishing with 96 not out off 38 balls, which included five fours and eight sixes. He narrowly missed out on a century, while C A Karthik supported him with an unbeaten 49 runs from 27 balls (3 fours, 3 sixes). Together, they forged an unbroken sixth-wicket partnership of 109 runs off just 51 balls.


Shubhang Hegde was the standout bowler for the Blasters, taking 2 wickets for 31 runs.


Earlier in the match, wicket-keeper KL Shrijith was instrumental in propelling the Blasters' innings, scoring 59 runs off 33 balls, featuring seven fours and two sixes.


Shrijith formed a crucial partnership of 55 runs off 26 balls with opener Rohan Patil, who contributed 30 runs off 14 balls, and another 49 runs off 33 balls with Samit Dravid.
