BCCI Announces Cash Prize for Champions
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has declared a cash prize of ₹58 crore for Team India following their triumph in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
This financial reward is intended to honor the players, coaching staff, support personnel, and members of the Men’s Selection Committee.
Under Rohit Sharma's captaincy, India showcased an impressive performance throughout the tournament, achieving four victories leading up to the final match. The team's journey commenced with a six-wicket win against Bangladesh, followed by another six-wicket victory over Pakistan. They maintained their winning streak with a 44-run win against New Zealand and ultimately defeated Australia by four wickets in the semi-finals.
BCCI president Roger Binny remarked, “Securing back-to-back ICC titles is a remarkable achievement, and this award acknowledges Team India’s commitment and excellence on the international stage. The cash prize reflects the immense effort put in by everyone behind the scenes. This marks our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the success of the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup, showcasing the robust cricketing framework in our nation.”
