India is scheduled to compete in two T20 matches against Ireland on June 26 and 28, raising safety concerns for the board. A knife attack in the city has led to reports of violence against immigrants, with footage circulating on social media that has intensified public unrest. Protests erupted in various locations, with masked individuals setting vehicles ablaze, vandalizing shops, and damaging public property. A source from the BCCI indicated that the organization is vigilantly observing the situation in Belfast. Cricket Ireland has also stated that it is monitoring developments in the affected regions.

Following the disappointing performance of Suryakumar Yadav, the board has decided to replace the World Cup-winning captain with Iyer for the UK tour. Additionally, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who impressed during the IPL, will make his much-anticipated debut, likely opening alongside Abhishek Sharma to create a formidable batting partnership. Sanju Samson has also been included in the squad after a strong performance, while Ishan Kishan retains his spot. Tilak Varma has been elevated to the role of T20 vice-captain.
