Guwahati (Assam) [India], August 14: In a thrilling encounter at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium, Captain Denish Das showcased his leadership by scoring a half-century, guiding the Barpeta Braves to a four-wicket win against the Guwahati Royals, who set a target of 137 runs.
This victory propelled the Barpeta Braves to third place in the league standings, accumulating eight points from seven matches. Meanwhile, the Guwahati Royals dropped to second place with ten points, trailing the Dibrugarh Warriors, who lead on net run rate.
After winning the toss and opting to bat, the Guwahati Royals faced an early setback with Rohit Sen's dismissal. However, Sanjay Kumar Singh and captain Rishav Das stabilized the innings. Rishav scored a solid 39 runs off 35 balls, while Nibir Deka added 33 runs from 34 balls. The Royals concluded their innings at 136/6 after 20 overs, with Jyoti Deka contributing 14 runs.
