Bangladesh's Strong Start in ODI Series
Dhaka [Bangladesh], March 13: Following a decisive victory in the first ODI of the three-match series against Pakistan, Bangladesh's captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz expressed his contentment with the team's performance.
As they prepare for the second ODI on Friday, Miraz emphasized the significance of gaining early momentum in the series, particularly in a year filled with numerous ODI matches where the ICC ODI team rankings are vital.
“Our start in this series against Pakistan has been excellent. Securing the first match is a significant boost. With many ODIs scheduled this year, rankings are important, so a strong beginning is very encouraging,” Miraz stated, as reported by the ICC.
The captain also shared insights into his recent bowling performance, acknowledging a challenging phase but revealing his commitment to enhancing his skills.
“I dedicated a lot of time to refining my bowling after facing difficulties. I identified areas for improvement and concentrated on them. Additionally, I participated in two BCL matches to hone my skills. Thankfully, my bowling was much more controlled yesterday,” he remarked.
Under Miraz's leadership, the Bangladeshi team convincingly defeated Pakistan by eight wickets at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Chasing a target of 115 runs, the Bangla Tigers accomplished this in just 15.1 overs, with opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim scoring an impressive 67 runs off 42 balls, including seven fours and five sixes.
