BCB Addresses Security Issues with ICC

On Wednesday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has expressed a willingness to collaborate closely with them to resolve issues regarding the team's participation in the upcoming T20 World Cup in India.

This development follows heightened tensions between India and Bangladesh, triggered by the exclusion of Bangladeshi bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL, a decision made under the directives of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). In response, the BCB formally requested that the ICC relocate Bangladesh's four World Cup matches to co-host Sri Lanka.

In a statement, the BCB confirmed that they had received feedback from the ICC concerning their concerns about the safety and security of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team during the T20 World Cup in India, including the request to move the matches.

The ICC has reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring that the Bangladesh team can participate fully and without interruption in the tournament.

Furthermore, the ICC has indicated its readiness to work alongside the BCB to address the raised concerns and has promised that the Board's suggestions will be taken into account during the comprehensive security planning for the event.

As of now, the ICC has not made any public comments regarding the BCB's concerns.

The T20 World Cup is set to commence on February 7, with Bangladesh scheduled to play their four matches in Kolkata and Mumbai.
