Bangladesh Clinches Thrilling ODI Series Against Pakistan with 11-Run Victory
Bangladesh Triumphs in Final ODI
Dhaka [Bangladesh], March 15: In an exhilarating conclusion to the ODI series, Bangladesh emerged victorious over Pakistan by 11 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Sunday, clinching the three-match series 2-1.
Bangladesh set a formidable target, scoring 290 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 50 overs. The innings was significantly bolstered by a stellar century from Tanzid Hasan Tamim, whose graceful batting laid a solid foundation.
Contributions from Litton Das, who scored 41, and Towhid Hridoy, who added a crucial 48, helped maintain the team's momentum during the middle overs. Their partnerships and a timely acceleration in the closing overs enabled Bangladesh to establish a challenging target for their opponents.
Pakistan, in response, fought back valiantly, with Salman Agha scoring a century to keep his team in the game. Saad Masood (38) and Shaheen Afridi (37) also played important roles, but the chase ultimately fell short as Bangladesh's bowlers made key breakthroughs.
Taskin Ahmed was the standout bowler, taking four wickets, while Mustafizur Rahman contributed with three, limiting Pakistan to 279 runs and securing a thrilling 11-run win for Bangladesh. This match was a stark contrast to the previous two, which were more one-sided.
After the match, Bangladesh's captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz expressed his thoughts, stating, “It was indeed an excellent match. At times, I felt anxious, especially during the last over with 14 runs needed. Everyone was a bit nervous. The pitch was good, and while reaching 300 would have been ideal, we still performed well, particularly with Amim's batting. The contributions from Shankal and Tawhid were also commendable.”
