Turner's Frustration with PSL Organizers

Ashton Turner, the captain of Multan Sultans, voiced his displeasure regarding the scheduling of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) following his team's win against Rawalpindiz at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium on April 6. The Australian cricketer has been leading his team impressively, with the Sultans currently sitting at the top of the 2026 PSL standings, having secured four victories out of five matches, totaling eight points. However, they have played more matches than any other team in the league, with five games under their belt, while other teams have played fewer matches.

Turner expressed his frustration over the tight scheduling, as his team had to compete on consecutive days, having faced the Quetta Gladiators just a day prior, which they won by six wickets. In the post-match press conference, he remarked, “I might go and find somewhere to get a blanket and a pillow and sleep here — very short turnaround.” Despite his team's success, Turner was clearly unhappy with the logistics.

This season, Turner has been in remarkable form, accumulating 129 runs in five innings with a striking rate of 189.70, and has only been dismissed once. Additionally, he has contributed with the ball, taking two wickets. This marks his second stint in the PSL; he previously played for Multan in 2023, where he scored only 15 runs in three matches. Turner also has experience in the IPL, having played for the Rajasthan Royals in 2019, where he struggled to make an impact.
