A Unique Connection to Bollywood

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]. April 27: Emerging motorsport talent and Racing Bull's F1 driver Arvid Lindblad has likened his own path to that of Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan, sharing insights about Khan's famed Mumbai home, "Mannat."

As a rising star in Formula 1, Lindblad's story resonates deeply with India, particularly due to his maternal lineage tracing back to Punjab.

In a recent YouTube vlog, Lindblad discussed the emotional weight of the sea-view bungalow and its significance.

"I don’t know if you can see, but the house is called Mannat, which translates to 'wish' in Hindi," he explained.

He recounted the famous tale of how Shah Rukh Khan was once denied entry by security before eventually acquiring the property.

"Apparently, many years ago, Shah Rukh Khan was told to leave, but he declared, 'I’m going to buy this house one day.' That’s pretty cool... I think that’s why he named it Mannat — because he wished to live here one day," he remarked.

Lindblad noted the parallels between Khan's journey and his own ambitions in racing, also mentioning fellow driver Lando Norris.

"It’s somewhat similar to Lando and me with that story. It’s quite ironic," he added.

The day continued with a lively cricket match at Azad Maidan, a walk through Colaba Causeway, and a visit to Girgaum Chowpatty for some local street food.

At just 18 years and seven months, Lindblad made history as the fourth-youngest driver to debut in F1 at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix. Currently, he stands 11th in the Drivers' standings for the ongoing season.

Recently, he participated in the second edition of the Red Bull Moto Jam event, a groundbreaking motorsport festival that thrilled Indian fans with live exhibitions and showcased Arvid driving an F1 car.

Arvid, who is the third F1 driver of Indian descent, returned to India just a week before his F1 debut to perform at the India Expo Centre in Noida, a region that has previously hosted three Formula One Grands Prix. He drove Sebastian Vettel’s 2012 World Championship-winning RB8, presented in VCARB livery.

Reflecting on the experience, Arvid stated, "It was such a unique opportunity to be part of the Red Bull Moto Jam event and drive an F1 car in India. Being behind the wheel in a country that shaped my childhood was truly special. From visiting the historical India Gate in Delhi to seeing all the fans cheering for me during the exhibition, it was a wonderful moment. I hope they enjoyed it. A huge thank you to everyone involved; it was the perfect way to kick off my F1 season before heading to Melbourne next week."
