Inauguration of the New Athletic Track

On Tuesday, Anurag Thakur, the former union sports minister and current Member of Parliament for Hamirpur, officially opened a state-of-the-art synthetic athletic track at the Central University of Haryana (CUH) in Mahendragarh. This facility, which cost ₹10.5 crore, aims to enhance the university's sports infrastructure.


During the inauguration, Thakur expressed, “It is an honor to inaugurate the synthetic athletic track on the CUH campus. This 400-meter track meets international standards and will significantly improve the sports facilities available to athletes, allowing them to train in a modern environment. This development will greatly benefit both university students and aspiring athletes in the region.”


Thakur further emphasized, “Our ambition is to position India among the top five sports superpowers globally. Achieving this goal is integral to our vision of a developed India. In the past, we struggled to make an impact in international sports, often finishing at the bottom of medal tables. However, today, the achievements of Indian athletes are gaining recognition worldwide.”
