Anshul Mishra Achieves Top Amateur Golfer Status in India
Anshul Mishra Becomes India's Leading Amateur Golfer
Chandigarh, India - April 27: Anshul Mishra, an athlete from the Roundglass Golf Academy, has officially been recognized as the top amateur golfer in India.
The Indian Golf Union (IGU) has released its latest Gentlemen Merit List for the 2026 season, where Mishra proudly holds the No. 1 position, confirming his status as the leading amateur golfer in the nation.
Mishra's rise to the top comes after an impressive start to the 2026 season, highlighted by a remarkable victory at the IGU Northern India Amateur Golf Championship held in March 2026.
At the challenging Panchkula Golf Club, he delivered an outstanding final round of 69, finishing the tournament with an impressive total score of 6-under 282, as noted in the release.
This significant milestone is a continuation of his successful journey over the past year. In 2025, Mishra made a name for himself on the national stage, concluding the year ranked third overall in the Indian Golf Union standings.
He also showcased his skills late last year by securing the top position in the stroke play qualifying rounds of the IGU 124th Amateur Championship of India in December 2025.
Col. Mohan Sharma, Lead of the Roundglass Hockey Academy, expressed his admiration, stating, “Anshul is an exciting talent. I have known him since he was about 7-8 years old, and his passion for the game has only grown stronger with each passing year.”
Located at the Chandigarh Golf Club, the Roundglass Golf Academy is establishing itself as a premier training hub for elite Indian golfers, providing a world-class environment for aspiring talents.
