Amieyra Khoslla Shines at IFSC World Youth Climbing Championships 2026

Historic Achievement for Young Climber

In Arco, Italy, on July 28, Amieyra Khoslla, a 15-year-old speed climbing prodigy from India, made headlines at the IFSC World Youth Climbing Championships 2026. She achieved a remarkable time of 7.60 seconds, securing an impressive 6th place globally and establishing a new Indian National Youth Record in Speed Climbing.

During the qualification round, Amieyra had already surpassed her personal best with a time of 7.74 seconds, only to improve it further in the finals with her record-breaking 7.60 seconds. This championship marked a significant milestone in her climbing career, showcasing her exceptional talent on an international platform.

Her coach, Albert Ok, a well-respected figure in Olympic speed climbing, praised her rapid progress, stating, "Amieyra's development in such a short time is extraordinary. Her performance at this level reflects her dedication and potential to inspire future Indian climbers."

Abhishek Mehta, her personal coach, expressed pride in her achievements, emphasizing that this is just the beginning of their journey. He believes Amieyra possesses the skills and determination to become one of India's top speed climbers.

Amieyra represented India alongside fellow climbers Shlok Dadukar, Neil Warke, and Rudra Karandikar, demonstrating the country's growing talent in the sport.

Reflecting on her experience, Amieyra shared, "Competing at the World Youth Championships has been a dream come true. Setting a new national record and finishing sixth has motivated me to strive for even greater heights in my climbing career."

In addition to her climbing prowess, Amieyra is also a talented sprinter, having won a Silver Medal in the 100 meters at the SGFI National School Games 2024 and achieving notable results in various competitions.
