Al-Nassr FC Triumphs Over Al-Shabab FC with Stellar Performances from Ronaldo and Felix
Al-Nassr FC Moves Closer to Title with 4-2 Victory
In a thrilling encounter on Thursday, Al-Nassr FC emerged victorious against Al-Shabab FC, winning 4-2 in the Saudi Pro League (SPL) and inching closer to securing the league championship.
Joao Felix was the standout player, delivering an exceptional performance that included a hat-trick, while Cristiano Ronaldo also contributed with a goal in this high-scoring match. Despite Al-Shabab's attempts to rally back with two goals, Al-Nassr maintained their dominance to claim all three points.
Felix kicked off the scoring just three minutes into the game and quickly doubled the lead in the 10th minute. Ronaldo added to the tally in the 75th minute, and Felix capped off his hat-trick later in the match.
Al-Shabab's goals were scored by Yannick Carrasco and Abderrazak Hamdallah, but their efforts fell short against the league leaders.
This victory solidified Al-Nassr's position at the top of the SPL standings, bringing their points total to 82 from 32 matches.
Al-Hilal trails in second place with 77 points, while Al-Ahli is third with 72 points. Al Qadsiah holds the fourth spot with 68 points, and Al-Taawoun FC is fifth. Al-Shabab currently sits in 13th place.
With this win, Al-Nassr is now just one victory away from clinching the Saudi Pro League title. A win against their rivals Al-Hilal on May 12 at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh could secure the championship for the club.
Furthermore, Al-Nassr and Ronaldo have the opportunity to add another trophy to their collection on May 16 when they face Gamba Osaka in the Asian Champions League Two final.
Al-Nassr coach Jorge Jesus emphasized the significance of the upcoming derby match against their rivals, stating, "We are fully aware of its importance, and we are dealing with it with complete focus as we know that small details could decide the result."
