On July 29, in Mumbai, former Indian cricketer and current chief selector Ajit Agarkar, alongside his wife Fatema Agarkar, unveiled 'Ace Juniors', a pioneering educational initiative.
The event attracted notable figures from various sectors, including former cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Sanjay Manjrekar, Parthiv Patel, and actress Neha Dhupia, along with other distinguished guests from education, sports, healthcare, and entertainment.
During the launch, Agarkar expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "We are thrilled; this is a significant day for us. It has always been a dream to establish this initiative, and today marks a major milestone."
Fatema elaborated on their vision for the initiative, which she described as a 'pre-school' that emphasizes both physical and mental health while promoting sports. The goal is to inspire children to engage in more physical activities.
She emphasized the importance of learning at a pace that suits each child, allowing them to discover their voice. Fatema highlighted the need for parents and educators to recognize the significance of sports and health in children's development.
"Our approach is about learning that aligns with children's individual rhythms, encouraging them to express themselves—some may grasp concepts quickly, while others take their time. The key is to make learning enjoyable through play, dance, and music, fostering genuine conversations. Every child deserves to find their voice," she stated.
Fatema further noted that the initiative aims to celebrate sports and health, ensuring that parents and teachers appreciate their importance. "It's not solely about achievements; it's about enjoying the process and being authentic," she added.
While Agarkar remained discreet about his specific role in the initiative, he acknowledged his lifelong connection to sports and stressed the necessity for parents to encourage their children to participate in various sports. "Today, there are ample opportunities for parents to facilitate this, which is ultimately our goal," he remarked.
