Exciting White-Ball Series Scheduled

Kabul, Afghanistan - The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has officially announced a white-ball series against Sri Lanka, featuring three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) from March 13 to March 25 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The series will kick off with the T20I matches, starting with the first game on March 13 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The subsequent T20Is are set for March 15 and March 17, also at the same venue.

Following the T20I matches, the ODI series will take place in Dubai, with games scheduled for March 20, 22, and 25 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

“We are thrilled to host Sri Lanka for the first time in our history. This series highlights the strength of our partnership with the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, and we are dedicated to enhancing our collaboration to deliver an exceptional cricket experience in the future. Sri Lanka has been performing remarkably well lately, and we anticipate a thrilling white-ball series between two strong teams,” stated Naseeb Khan, CEO of ACB.

“Moreover, this series is crucial for our objectives as we aim to develop our team and address key areas needing improvement. Our main focus is to prepare the squad for significant ICC and ACC events, along with various bilateral commitments over the next two years,” he added.

The T20I matches will be hosted in Sharjah, while the ODIs will unfold in Dubai. The last encounter between these two teams in a bilateral series occurred in early 2024, where Afghanistan toured Sri Lanka. On that occasion, Sri Lanka achieved a clean sweep, winning the ODI series 3-0 and the T20I series 2-1.
