Abhishek Explains His Celebration
Abhishek Reveals Reason Behind New Celebration
During a mid-innings interview, Abhishek explained that his new celebration stemmed from successfully batting through the entire 20 overs, a rare achievement for him. He stated, “I had a plan with Frankie (James Franklin), and he wanted me to bat until the 20th over, which Murali (Muralitharan) also emphasized. This might be the first time I’ve batted through the 20th over, so that was the reason for my celebration. Scoring a century is always special, especially at this ground.” Following his record-setting performance, Abhishek surpassed teammate Heinrich Klaasen to claim the orange cap, having accumulated 323 runs in seven innings at an average of 53.83, including two half-centuries and today’s century. Klaasen, on the other hand, has scored 320 runs with three half-centuries, contributing a brisk 37 runs off 13 balls in the match.
