Aaqib Javed's Controversial Comparison

On Saturday, Aaqib Javed, the senior selector for Pakistan cricket and a former fast bowler, commented on Jasprit Bumrah's distinctive bowling style, which he believes disrupts batters' ability to find their rhythm. Interestingly, he drew a comparison between Bumrah and Usman Tariq, a mystery spinner who participated in the recent T20 World Cup.

Usman was expected to be a challenging opponent for batters during the World Cup co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, but he had a disappointing tournament, as Pakistan was eliminated in the Super Eights and did not reach the semifinals.

In stark contrast, Bumrah was instrumental in India's success, showcasing exceptional performances that led the team to victory, especially in the semifinal and final matches.

In defense of Usman's lackluster performance, Aaqib stated, "Throughout this T20 World Cup, only Bumrah has been effective, even while conceding runs. His unconventional bowling action prevents batters from settling into a rhythm. I would liken him to fast bowling's Usman Tariq."

Aaqib's comments sparked backlash on social media, with many cricket enthusiasts ridiculing the comparison between the two bowlers.

One user highlighted the absurdity of comparing a spinner with a fast bowler, emphasizing the significant disparity in their experience and accomplishments.

Bumrah has participated in 95 T20 Internationals, taking 121 wickets, whereas Usman has played just nine matches, securing 18 wickets.
