ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 Schedule Released

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially released the full schedule for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, which will take place in England from June to July this year. This tournament will feature 12 teams, including a highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan, marking their first encounter since the ODI World Cup 2025. This clash is set for June 14 at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham. India will also compete against Bangladesh, South Africa, and Australia during the group stage.

The tournament kicks off on June 12 with the host nation, England, facing Sri Lanka in the opening match. This edition of the Women's T20 World Cup is notable for having the largest number of participating teams in its history, as stated by the ICC. The final four teams to qualify for the event were Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands, who secured their spots through the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier held in Nepal last month.

Joining them are defending champions New Zealand, the hosts England, 2016 champions West Indies, current ODI World Cup holders India, and six-time winners Australia. The tournament will run from June 12 to July 5, with the final scheduled to take place at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London.

In the group stages, England will face Scotland at Headingley on June 20, marking their first meeting at an ICC event on English soil. Group B includes Ireland, Scotland, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and West Indies, while Group A consists of Australia, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands. Notably, the Netherlands will be making their debut in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup, starting their campaign against Bangladesh, who went unbeaten in the qualifiers.

ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta emphasized the significance of the schedule release, stating, "This event continues ICC's commitment to women's cricket through expanded participation, high-performance pathways, and enhanced media distribution and commercial partnerships. Our goal is to elevate the sport's profile and engage fans globally." He added that the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in India had a profound impact, breaking records and inspiring communities, and expressed hope to maintain this momentum into the upcoming tournament.
