CM Punk's Return Sparks Excitement for Future WWE Matches
CM Punk's Dramatic Comeback on WWE Raw
CM Punk has put an end to rumors surrounding his absence by making a surprise return on the latest episode of Monday Night Raw. He targeted his longtime rival Seth Rollins, which resulted in Rollins losing his chance at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The confrontation ended in disqualification, indicating that their feud is far from over.
Following WrestleMania 41, a new alliance featuring Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins, orchestrated by Paul Heyman, emerged, leading to a brutal attack on both CM Punk and Roman Reigns. Reports from the Wrestling Observer suggest that this storyline could culminate in a tag team match featuring Rollins and Breakker against Punk and Reigns.
Earlier speculations hinted that this anticipated match might take place at this weekend's Backlash event, especially after Punk's unexpected appearance on Raw. However, WWE appears to be reserving this showdown for a more significant Premium Live Event (PLE), such as Money In The Bank or SummerSlam.
Notably, this year's SummerSlam will mark the first-ever two-night event in its history, prompting WWE to book high-profile matches to fill the schedule for both nights. Consequently, CM Punk and Roman Reigns are expected to play crucial roles in this summer's biggest PLE.
CM Punk's Aspirations for a Final Match with John Cena
Roman Reigns is set to appear at Money in the Bank in June and is featured on the official poster for SummerSlam 2025 in August. While there is no confirmed date for his next television appearance, fans can expect CM Punk to make several appearances on Raw as he continues his rivalry with Seth Rollins.
In a recent interview with a streaming platform, CM Punk expressed his desire to participate in at least one final match alongside John Cena during Cena's farewell tour. Punk stated he would be thrilled to either team up with Cena or face him in the ring.
“Selfishly, I’d love to be a part of [Cena’s farewell tour] in any which way he possibly sees fit. He wants to tag with me, awesome. He wants to lock back up with me, fantastic. But as a fan, I’m just excited to be here to witness it all.”
