Second Half Efforts Fall Short
Chennaiyin maintained their attacking momentum into the second half, pushing down the wings effectively. Laldinliana was particularly active, delivering a threatening cross early on. A well-coordinated play saw Imran find Chima, whose acrobatic shot went off target. Substitute S Prakadeswaran displayed confidence, attempting to curl a shot into the far corner.
Defensively, Lalrinliana Hnamte made a vital play to thwart a promising attack from Mohammedan. Chennaiyin surged forward again, with Irfan playing a key role. After beating his defender, he was brought down in the box, but the referee did not award a penalty. Irfan continued to create opportunities, delivering an excellent cross to Chima, who unfortunately shot over the bar. Both Mohammed Ali Bemammer and Prakadeswaran also came close as the pressure intensified in the final moments.
Despite their persistent efforts, Chennaiyin could not find the winning goal. The team will now prepare for their upcoming match against Jamshedpur FC on April 25.
