On Sunday, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) celebrated the induction of cricket icons Suresh Raina and Matthew Hayden into their inaugural Hall of Fame. This event took place during the pre-season fan gathering, ROAR 2026, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, ahead of the IPL's 19th season.

Raina, often referred to as 'Mr. IPL,' was a crucial part of CSK's batting lineup, while Hayden was known for his explosive opening performances in the franchise's early years. CSK shared their excitement on social media, stating, 'Before the legacy... there were these two. Our first Hall of Fame inductees: Suresh Raina & Matthew Hayden.'

Raina's impressive IPL career includes 5,528 runs across 205 matches, featuring one century and 39 half-centuries, making him the fifth-highest run-scorer in IPL history. He has been a key player in multiple championship victories for CSK.

Hayden, in his 32 matches with CSK, accumulated 1,107 runs with an average of 36.90 and a strike rate of 137.51, including eight fifties.

During the same event, MS Dhoni took the opportunity to honor T20 World Cup champions Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and U-19 captain Ayush Mhatre. He presented them with special mementoes, celebrating their recent achievements in the T20 World Cup.

The event was a gathering of CSK veterans and fans, highlighting the team's rich history and recent successes.
