Exciting Matches in the Rugby Premier League

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] June 16: On a rainy Monday, both the Chennai Bulls and Bengaluru Bravehearts showcased their skills with impressive victories during Season 1 of the Rugby Premier League (RPL) at the Shahaji Raje Bhosale Sports Complex.

The Chennai Bulls, having secured two wins in as many matches, currently lead the standings, while the Bravehearts sit in second place with one victory and a draw, according to an RPL announcement.

The Bengaluru Bravehearts displayed remarkable performance, defeating the Kalinga Black Tigers with a score of 35-10. The match began with the Black Tigers taking an early lead through a try by Lucas Lacamp.

However, the Bravehearts quickly turned the tide, with Philip Wokorach scoring two tries, complemented by contributions from Akuila Rokolisoa, Iowane Teba, and Mohit Khatri, each adding a try to the scoreboard.

While the Kalinga Black Tigers struggled with their kicks, failing to convert any, the Bravehearts capitalized on their opportunities, successfully converting their kicks for an additional ten points.

Wokorach, Teba (who made three successful kicks), and Rokolisoa were instrumental in the Bravehearts' victory, maintaining their unbeaten streak with a draw in their first match and a win in the second.

In the second match of the day, the Chennai Bulls faced off against the Mumbai Dreamers, winning decisively with a score of 31-17. The Bulls started strong, keeping the Dreamers at bay throughout the match.

Despite a late surge from the Dreamers, who aimed for a comeback, the Bulls effectively countered their efforts in the final moments of the game.

Vaafauese Maliko and Joseva Talacolo each scored two tries for the Bulls, while Filipe Sauturaga added another try. Joaquin Pellandini had two opportunities to score kicks, and Sauturaga contributed additional points.

The Dreamers managed to score tries through Waisea Nacuqu, James Turner, and Briar Barron, with Nacuqu successfully converting one kick. Unfortunately, the Dreamers have now lost both of their matches, while the Bulls remain undefeated.
