Chelsea Triumphs Over PSG to Claim Inaugural FIFA Club World Cup 2025

Chelsea Secures Victory in FIFA Club World Cup 2025
New York [US], July 14: Chelsea emerged victorious in the first-ever FIFA Club World Cup 2025, defeating French champions Paris Saint-Germain with a commanding 3-0 scoreline in New Jersey on Monday.
Despite being the favorites, PSG entered the final without conceding a goal in their last four matches. However, they fell behind in the 22nd minute when Cole Palmer skillfully controlled a clever pass from Malo Gusto and curled a stunning shot into the far corner, giving Chelsea an early lead, as reported by a sports outlet.
Just eight minutes later, Palmer struck again, this time connecting with a deep ball and, with remarkable composure, bending it into the far corner once more.
As PSG attempted to contain Chelsea's offensive threat, Palmer turned into a playmaker, delivering a precise pass that released João Pedro, who cheekily lifted the ball over the stranded Gianluigi Donnarumma.
PSG was eager for the half-time whistle, having struggled to cope with Chelsea's relentless pressing throughout the first half.
The second half was quieter, featuring the inaugural half-time show at a FIFA event, with performances by Coldplay, Doja Cat, J Balvin, and Tems.
Both teams made tactical changes, but PSG, the reigning European champions, were particularly desperate for a breakthrough. Chelsea's Liam Delap, who replaced Pedro, forced Donnarumma into two remarkable saves, maintaining the scoreline.
PSG ended the match with ten players after João Neves received a straight red card for pulling Marc Cucurella's hair just five minutes before the final whistle.
With this victory, Chelsea added the Club World Cup trophy to their UEFA Conference League title won in May, marking a stellar debut season for Italian coach Maresca at Stamford Bridge.
