Chelsea Secures Unbeaten Season in WSL

London [UK], May 10: Chelsea has etched its name in history as the first team in the Women’s Super League (WSL) to finish a season without a loss, clinching a 1-0 victory against Liverpool thanks to a late goal from Aggie Beever-Jones on Saturday.

Playing at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea faced Liverpool after already securing the championship title with two matches remaining. Liverpool put up a strong defense, making it challenging for Chelsea to create significant scoring chances.

However, in stoppage time, Beever-Jones broke the deadlock, sealing Chelsea's sixth consecutive WSL title.

With this win, Chelsea concluded the season with an impressive 60 points, setting a new record for the highest points in WSL history. Following their title triumph, manager Sonia Bompastor is not done yet; the team is now focused on achieving a historic domestic treble.

Chelsea is set to compete against Manchester United at Wembley on May 18, aiming to add the FA Cup to their WSL and League Cup victories.

"It’s hard to comprehend what this means. We had the chance to play our last home game in front of our fans, and the atmosphere was incredible. As a manager, players, and staff, these moments are rare in a lifetime. It’s hard to believe, but we must savor it as it’s a remarkable achievement. The staff deserves immense credit; often, the manager gets the spotlight, but they work tirelessly behind the scenes," Bompastor shared with Sky Sports.

"All the players and staff follow a daily routine, working diligently with the right mindset and leading by example, which is crucial for the team. They also deserve to relish this moment. Completing the season unbeaten is a fantastic accomplishment, as every match was challenging. Even today, we found the winning goal in the final moments," Bompastor added.
