Chelsea Green has faced numerous injuries throughout her wrestling career, and she is currently contending with another one. Early in her WWE journey, she struggled to compete due to injuries, which ultimately contributed to her departure from the organization. This was not the only significant challenge she faced during her career.

In a recent interview with "Limpin Ain't Easy," Chelsea discussed how injuries are an inherent part of wrestling. She recounted a specific incident in India while filming for a wrestling-themed television show, where she required urgent surgery.

“I have broken my nose and cheekbones in training... It sounds worse than it is... I broke my collarbone on live TV in India,” Chelsea shared, noting that the audience size was comparable to WrestleMania. “I ended up getting surgery in India... You can barely tell, even with the scar on me, that I’d broken my collarbone.”

Chelsea Green's Struggles with the 'Injury-Prone' Label

Chelsea Green expressed her frustration over being labeled as 'injury-prone' during her initial WWE stint, particularly as she faced injuries early on when the company was moving at a rapid pace. Being sidelined for 6-9 months had a detrimental impact on her career trajectory. This label, she believes, contributed to her release from WWE several years ago.

“So I have already dealt with those kinds of ups and downs in wrestling,” Chelsea continued. “But obviously the first break, my broken arm, in WWE, was on live TV at Full Sail during an NXT and I would say, out of the three broken arms I had in WWE, that was the hardest one. My first one.”

Chelsea Green's initial release from WWE in 2021 motivated her to work diligently on the independent circuit, ultimately leading to her return to the company in 2023. Since her comeback, she has achieved notable success, including winning the inaugural WWE Women’s United States Championship and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Piper Niven and Sonya Deville.

Chelsea Green's Resilience and Future Aspirations

Chelsea Green's determination to prove herself as a valuable asset to WWE has been a driving force behind her efforts to regain recognition within the company. This commitment is reflected in her recent accomplishments, including being crowned the first-ever Women’s United States Champion.
