WWE Smackdown's Chelsea Green has developed a unique relationship with the Royal Rumble, a key event in the WWE calendar. After a two-year hiatus, she made her comeback at the Royal Rumble over two years ago, where she set a record by being eliminated in just five seconds. This moment, however, marked the start of a promising chapter in her wrestling career.

Since her return during the 2023 Royal Rumble, Green has had the chance to showcase her skills at major WWE events such as WrestleMania, Money in the Bank, and Crown Jewel. While she typically thrives under pressure, there is one event that makes her particularly uneasy.

Chelsea Green's Thoughts on Royal Rumble

Royal Rumble is like fighting your family, says Chelsea Green

In a recent interview with LiMPiN AiNT Easy, the former United States Champion revealed that the Royal Rumble is the one WWE Premium Live Event that consistently heightens her anxiety. She likens the experience to battling her own family, referring to her fellow wrestlers, in order to secure a spot at WrestleMania, a notion she finds uncomfortable.

“There’s no point in being competitive with your co-workers, like we’re family and I would never be competitive with my sister for an amazing opportunity. So why would I want to step on someone to get an opportunity in WWE?” Chelsea Green questioned.

“But you get into the Royal Rumble and it’s a literal competition with all your family, like you are all in there trying to outperform the rest and I just do not perform well under those pressures.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)

Green also acknowledged that her ability to shine in Royal Rumble matches is aided by WWE agents who help her create comedic moments during the bouts. Throughout her WWE journey, she has participated in four Royal Rumble matches, lasting nearly 30 minutes in the 2025 edition.

The upcoming Royal Rumble 2026 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking the first time the event will be held internationally. Green expressed excitement about returning to the Middle Eastern country, where she has fond memories.
