Chambal Ghariyals Triumph Over Bundelkhand Bulls in MPL T20 Scindia Cup 2026
Chambal Ghariyals Maintain Winning Streak
The Chambal Ghariyals showcased their prowess in the Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) T20 Scindia Cup 2026, securing a 39-run victory against the Bundelkhand Bulls at Holkar Stadium in Indore.
Ghariyals Post Impressive Total
Opting to bat first, the Ghariyals amassed a formidable score of 218 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Shubham Sharma and Tripuresh Singh were instrumental in this achievement, as detailed in a press release on June 17. Despite a rocky start that saw them at 80 for 4, the duo forged a vital 77-run partnership that revitalized their innings. Tripuresh dazzled with a quickfire 50 runs off just 24 balls, hitting six sixes before his dismissal. Shubham anchored the innings, scoring 81 runs from 51 balls, featuring eight fours and two sixes. Contributions from Aman Bhadoriya, who scored 15 off 6 balls, and Mayur Patel, who added an unbeaten 13 off 3 balls, ensured the Ghariyals comfortably crossed the 200-run threshold.
Bulls Struggle in Chase Despite Strong Performances
In their response, the Bundelkhand Bulls faced an early blow with Bhumesh Muzalda falling for just 1 run off 3 balls. Shivang Kumar and Abhishek Pathak tried to stabilize the innings with a 36-run partnership for the second wicket, but Shivang was dismissed for 12 runs off 9 balls. Pathak showed promise but was soon out for 31 runs off 18 balls.
Under pressure, Harsh Gawali and Parth Goswami attempted to revive the chase. However, the disciplined bowling from the Ghariyals kept the Bulls from gaining momentum, particularly during the middle overs. Despite their efforts to accelerate in the final overs, the required run rate proved too challenging. Gawali remained not out at 70 runs off 48 balls, while Goswami contributed 55 runs off 44 balls, but the Bulls ultimately fell short of the target.
Bowling Highlights for Ghariyals
Tripuresh Singh was notable with the ball, taking 2 wickets for 38 runs in his four overs. Mayur Patel also impressed with his economical bowling, allowing only 27 runs in his four overs, achieving an economy rate of 6.75.
Captain's Reflections on the Victory
After the match, captain Shubham Sharma expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance, stating, "It's a fantastic feeling to achieve seven consecutive wins. The positive atmosphere in the dressing room is crucial, but we recognize areas for improvement. Each match presents unique challenges, and today was no exception. After losing a few early wickets, forming partnerships became essential. Our preparation before the tournament has significantly contributed to our success. Training together in Gwalior has fostered strong team bonding, which is reflected in our consistent performances."
