Bundelkhand Bulls Focus on Local Talent Development in MPL 2025

Bundelkhand Bulls' Commitment to Nurturing Local Talent
Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 17: Although the Bundelkhand Bulls have yet to secure a win in the Madhya Pradesh League 2025, their commitment to discovering and developing local talent from the Bundelkhand area remains steadfast, as highlighted in a recent MPL announcement.
With a youthful team and a strong developmental ethos, the franchise has already established a significant presence off the field through its effective scouting system and community-focused initiatives.
Rohit Wadhwa, the chairman of RW Group and owner of the team, elaborated on the franchise's aspirations during the ongoing league.
“Our goal at Bundelkhand Bulls is to showcase the best raw talent from the Bundelkhand region,” Wadhwa stated. “We have put in considerable effort to identify and nurture these players. During the MPL Talent Hunt Program, we received over 1,800 applications and selected 8-10 top players, including two mystery spinners from Sagar district.”
The MPL Talent Hunt Program, initiated by the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, required each franchise to hold talent trials in their designated areas. The trials conducted by Bundelkhand Bulls in Sagar saw an impressive turnout, indicating the rich cricketing potential in the region.
“The response was remarkable. It’s unprecedented for 1,800 players to show up from a single area in MP cricket. We organized a camp, assessed the players thoroughly, and ultimately chose two to represent Bundelkhand Bulls in MPL 2025,” Wadhwa added.
Despite facing losses in their initial three matches, the management remains optimistic about the team's potential and future. With Avesh Khan initially set as the icon player, his absence due to other obligations has allowed a completely young squad to gain essential experience.
Among the notable players is Saumy Pandey, who was the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the ICC U19 World Cup 2024, where India finished as runners-up. The left-arm spinner continues to impress in MPL 2025 with his skill and composure, according to the release.
“Saumy is an exceptionally talented player and is already making a mark,” Wadhwa remarked. “Alongside him, Divyanshu Yadav and Vivek Sharma are players to keep an eye on. We believe our young team possesses immense potential and will bounce back strongly. This is our inaugural MPL season, and we are here to make a lasting impact.”
