The Bharat Open recently concluded in Vadodara, featuring an exciting week of high-caliber pickleball that showcased both new and seasoned players. In the highly competitive Open Men’s Singles final, Aman Patel secured a well-deserved victory against Shivraj Singh Bhati. Patel's strategic play and precision were key to his success, marking a significant moment in his rising career within the domestic scene. Although Shivraj performed admirably throughout the tournament, he ultimately fell short in the final, yet his performance indicated a promising future.
The doubles events highlighted impressive teamwork and experience. In the 50+ men’s doubles category, Nilesh Desai and Samir Shroff triumphed over Monesh Mashruwala and Kunal Parikh, demonstrating their ability to maintain composure and consistency. Earlier, Desai also claimed the 40+ mixed doubles title with partner Swetal Desai, where their synergy and court coverage were pivotal.
In the women’s division, Khushi Desai emerged victorious in the Open Women’s Singles after a challenging match against Agnimitra Bhattacharya. Khushi's focus and error management were crucial in this tightly contested final, while Agnimitra showcased her resilience, earning a silver medal for her efforts. The 30+ women’s doubles title was claimed by Mini Singh and Sindoor Mittal, who exhibited excellent coordination and shot-making skills throughout the tournament, effectively handling pressure in critical moments.
Other noteworthy achievements included Dhiren Patel winning the men’s 30+ singles title with a tactically sound performance, while Rakib Merchant secured a bronze in his category.
