BCCI Clarifies Venue for Upcoming ODI

New Delhi: On Monday, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia refuted claims that the first ODI of the upcoming three-match series against Sri Lanka would be relocated from Delhi to Ahmedabad.

Saikia clarified in a concise statement that the match, scheduled for December 13, was assigned to Delhi according to standard procedures, and there has been no alteration to the venue.

"The information suggesting a shift of the India-Sri Lanka ODI match from Delhi to Ahmedabad is incorrect. The BCCI has not made any such decision," Saikia stated.

He further emphasized that the allocation of bilateral matches is primarily governed by established policies.

Speculation arose that the match might be moved to Ahmedabad, which is set to host the series finale on December 19, due to ongoing construction at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

In addition to the ODIs, Sri Lanka is also scheduled to participate in a three-match T20 International series during their tour.
