The 20-year-old Ayush, who secured a bronze medal at the BWF World Junior Championships in 2023, showcased his ability to perform under pressure. The first game was fiercely contested, with Christie initially leading and reaching game point with a two-point advantage. However, Ayush remained composed, saving two game points and ultimately clinching the game 23-21.

Dominating the Match

In the second game, both competitors exchanged points multiple times until Ayush took the lead at 10-9. He maintained this advantage and finished the match with a score of 21-17 after 54 minutes, continuing his impressive run in the tournament without losing a single game.

Previously, Shetty eliminated China's Li Shi Feng, ranked seventh in the world, in straight sets, and also defeated Chi Yu Jen from Chinese Taipei in the pre-quarters. His next challenge will be against the winner of the match between World No. 1 Kunlavut Vitidsarn and China's Weng Hong Yang, who was the runner-up at the China Masters 2025.
