In a stunning display, the West Indies recorded their lowest-ever total in Test cricket, collapsing to just 27 runs. The Australian pace attack, featuring Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Scott Boland, wreaked havoc on the West Indian batting lineup. The momentum shifted dramatically within a mere 15 minutes, as Australia turned the tide and dismantled the hosts in just 15 overs.


Starc's Remarkable Performance

Despite the chaos, Mitchell Starc maintained his composure. Earlier in the match, he had faced some banter from Jayden Seales after the latter bowled him out. However, Starc got his revenge by breaking through Seales' defense, claiming his sixth wicket of the day. Seales attempted to drive a full delivery but ended up edging it, resulting in the bails flying off. Starc couldn't help but laugh and point at Seales as he walked off.


Starc's Five-Wicket Haul

Starc undoubtedly emerged as the standout player of the match. Before taking Seales' wicket, he had already claimed five wickets in just five overs. He started by dismissing John Campbell with a classic seam delivery on the very first ball of the innings, clocking in at 137 km/h. He then took down Kelvon Anderson and Brendon King for ducks in consecutive deliveries, both falling to LBW. Starc also dismissed Mikyle Louis and Shai Hope, with Hope's wicket coming after a successful DRS review for LBW.

On the occasion of his 100th Test match, Starc was awarded both the Player of the Match and Player of the Series honors after Australia completed a clean sweep against the West Indies. Throughout the series, Starc secured 15 wickets, placing him second overall, while Shamar Joseph from the West Indies led with 22 wickets.
