Stallions Advance to the Final

The Aspin Stallions have clinched a place in the final after a remarkable performance, achieving a seven-wicket victory over Quetta Qavalry at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium during Qualifier 1 of the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10. Sherfane Rutherford played a pivotal role, scoring an explosive 66 runs off just 19 balls, which included six fours and six sixes, marking the Qavalry's second consecutive defeat.


Qavalry's Next Challenge

Following this loss, the Qavalry will compete against the winner of the match between UAE Bulls and Ajman Titans for another chance to reach the finals, as announced by the Abu Dhabi T10 organizers.


Rutherford's Explosive Performance

In pursuit of 103 runs to secure a final spot, the Stallions faced early trouble at 13/2, losing both Andre Fletcher and Avishka Fernando within the first 2.3 overs. However, Rahmanullah Gurbaz (19 runs off 22 balls) steadied the innings while Rutherford unleashed a powerful counterattack, scoring 66 not out off 22 balls, which dramatically shifted the game's momentum.


Rutherford's assault included three fours and a six against Abbas Afridi in the fifth over, followed by two more sixes off Majid Ali, allowing the Stallions to take control of the chase. Mohammad Amir (1/5) ended Gurbaz's innings in the eighth over, but with 23 runs required from the last 12 balls, Rutherford's explosive ninth over, featuring three sixes and a four, secured the victory with seven balls remaining.


Qavalry Sets a Challenging Target

Batting first, the Qavalry faced an early setback with Evin Lewis's dismissal. However, Muhammad Waseem (17 runs off 11 balls) and Andries Gous (26 runs off 16 balls) formed a quick 31-run partnership in just 15 deliveries to stabilize the innings. Waseem was dismissed by Ashmead Nedd, and Gous fell to Karim Janat, leaving the Qavalry at 61-3 after seven overs.


Captain Liam Livingstone contributed significantly, partnering with Khawaja Nafay to score 22 runs off Nedd in the eighth over, boosting the run rate. Livingstone was eventually dismissed by Janat, while Nafay was run out in the final over, leading the Qavalry to a total of 102/6. Binura Fernando and Karim Janat were standout bowlers, with impressive figures of 2/14 and 2/9, respectively.
