Ashutosh Sharma Shines with Century in England Club Cricket Debut
Ashutosh Sharma's Impressive Start in England
Delhi Capitals' lower-order batsman Ashutosh Sharma kicked off his club cricket journey in England with an outstanding performance. He scored a remarkable century off 70 balls for Wigan Cricket Club against Formby CC during the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition on Saturday.
Arriving in the UK early Saturday morning, Ashutosh quickly made his way to the pitch. Wigan found themselves in a precarious position at 17 runs for 3 wickets in just under ten overs when he stepped in to bat. He then partnered with opening batsman Aveen Dalugod to build a solid 153-run partnership.
Ashutosh's innings included 100 runs from 73 deliveries, featuring 8 boundaries and 6 sixes, achieving a strike rate of 136.99. Following his dismissal, Wigan's innings faltered from a promising 170 for 3 to 195 for 7 by the 41st over. This tournament is part of the ECB Premier League framework, as noted by Wisden.
