Ashok Dinda Appointed As Minister Of State
Following the swearing-in of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and five others three weeks prior, the West Bengal BJP government welcomed 35 new ministers into its Cabinet on Monday. The swearing-in ceremony, conducted by Governor RN Ravi at Nabanna, increased the total number of ministers, including the Chief Minister, to 41. This new assembly includes 13 cabinet ministers, three Ministers of State (Independent Charge), and 19 Ministers of State (MoS). Dinda took his oath as a Minister of State.
After retiring from cricket in February 2021, Dinda entered politics by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and contested for the Moyna seat in the Purba Medinipur district during the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections.
