Arsenal's Title Aspirations Strengthened

Meanwhile, Manchester City faced a setback, settling for a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium, as reported by the Premier League website.

The match's sole goal arrived early, in the ninth minute, when Bukayo Saka celebrated his 300th appearance for Arsenal with a low shot that deflected off Carlos Baleba, eluding goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.

Brighton sought to equalize and generated multiple scoring opportunities. Gabriel Magalhaes made a crucial defensive play early in the match, while David Raya later executed a vital save to thwart Georginio Rutter of Brighton in the second half.

Arsenal nearly doubled their lead late in the game, but Leandro Trossard was unable to convert a close-range chance. Despite the mounting pressure from Brighton, Arsenal managed to secure all three points.

This victory places Arsenal seven points ahead of second-placed Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, while Brighton remains in 13th place with 37 points.

In a separate match, Manchester City dropped valuable points in their title chase, drawing 2-2 with Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium.

City initially took the lead in the 31st minute, thanks to a well-placed volley from Antoine Semenyo off Rayan Cherki's cross. They went into halftime with the advantage but were equalized 11 minutes into the second half when Morgan Gibbs-White scored for Forest with a clever backheel.

Rodri quickly restored City's lead with a header from a corner, marking his first league goal since May 2024. However, Forest struck back again in the 76th minute, with Elliot Anderson curling a stunning long-range shot into the bottom corner.

As a result, City remains on 60 points, trailing leaders Arsenal by seven points, although they have a game in hand. Nottingham Forest climbs to 17th place with 28 points, just outside the relegation zone on goal difference.
