Historic Achievement at World Athletics Indoor Championships

Armand 'Mondo' Duplantis has etched his name in history at the ongoing World Athletics Indoor Championships by becoming the first man to win four consecutive world indoor pole vault titles. He also set a new championship record during this remarkable feat. The competition intensified after Australian athlete Kurtis Mascharll attempted to secure bronze with a height of 6.00 m, leaving Duplantis and Greece's Emmanouil Karalis to battle for gold.

Mondo's Record-Setting Performance

Karalis, who recently achieved a personal best of 6.17 m at the home championships, successfully cleared heights of 6.10 m and 6.15 m. In contrast, Duplantis cleared both heights effortlessly on his first attempts. When Karalis struggled to reach 6.20 m, Duplantis soared to a new record of 6.25 m, surpassing his previous championship record of 6.20 m set in Belgrade in 2022.

Karalis, unfortunately, had to settle for silver for the third consecutive time at the world championships, unable to match Duplantis's height. He had previously finished second at the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing 2025 and the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo 2025.
