Arjun Tendulkar Achieves Milestone with 100 Wickets in Senior Cricket
Arjun Tendulkar's Remarkable Achievement
Arjun Tendulkar, the son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has reached a significant milestone in his cricketing journey. Playing for Goa, this fast bowler completed his century of wickets during the Ranji Trophy match against Saurashtra. While he showcases both batting and bowling skills like his father, his batting style differs from Sachin's. Notably, Arjun scored a century in his debut Ranji match for Goa.
Joining the Goa team ahead of the 2022/23 season, Arjun has been a consistent player since. He made his debut in domestic cricket during the 2020/21 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Mumbai. After a year without play, he shifted to Goa. Besides representing Goa and Mumbai, he has also played senior cricket for the Mumbai Indians. His junior cricket career was entirely with Mumbai, and he has also represented India's Under-19 cricket team.
Arjun Tendulkar's 100 Wicket Milestone
Arjun Tendulkar has achieved a remarkable feat by taking 100 wickets in senior cricket. The left-arm pacer claimed his 100th wicket by dismissing Harvik Desai for 45 runs. He took his first wicket in senior cricket in January 2021 during his debut match for Mumbai against Haryana. Although he played only one senior match for Mumbai, he made his Ranji Trophy debut for Goa against Rajasthan in December 2022, where he also scored a century. Interestingly, his father also began his Ranji Trophy career with a century.
Before his Ranji debut, Arjun made his List A debut against Andhra Pradesh. At 26 years old, he has taken 48 wickets in first-class cricket, 25 in 50-over formats, and 27 in T20 matches.
Arjun's Career with Mumbai Indians
Arjun joined the Mumbai Indians (MI) during the IPL 2021 mini-auction at a base price of ₹20 lakhs. MI retained him for ₹30 lakhs in the IPL 2022 mega-auction and again at the same price for the IPL 2025 mega-auction. He made his IPL debut in 2023, taking 3 wickets in 4 matches, but played only one match in IPL 2024 and remained on the bench in IPL 2025. Recently, he has been traded to the Lucknow Super Giants and is set to play under Rishabh Pant's captaincy in IPL 2026.
