Victory at the Picklebay Zonals


Arjun Singh and Naomi Amalsadiwala recently secured the Pro Mixed Doubles title at the Picklebay Zonals – North, a PWR 700 event sanctioned by the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA). This event took place at Horizon x Courtplay in Gurgaon on June 27, following their impressive runner-up finish at the BIDV Cup in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.


In a thrilling final, Arjun and Naomi faced off against Divyanshu Kataria and Pearl Amalsadiwala, emerging victorious in a tightly contested match. Earlier, Arjun had claimed the Pro Men's Singles title, and together with Naomi, they showcased their skills by defeating Quang Duong and Shelby Bates in the quarterfinals, followed by a win against Richard Livornese Jr. and Megan Fudge in the semifinals.


The final match was a nail-biter, with scores of 11-9, 10-11, and 13-11. The first game saw Arjun and Naomi take a narrow lead, but Pearl and Divyanshu rallied back to win the second game. Ultimately, Arjun and Naomi held their composure to clinch the title in the decisive third game. This victory enhances their prospects for selection in India's senior team for the upcoming Pickleball World Cup.


Both athletes have previously been named to India's Under-18 junior team for the World Cup, showcasing their potential on the international stage.
