Day Two Highlights of the Championship

Arjun Dahiya secured a one-shot advantage in Category 'A' (ages 15-17) after a flawless two-under 70 on the second day of the IGU Andhra Pradesh Junior Boys Golf Championship, held at the East Point Golf Club.


Category 'A' Standings

With a consistent performance, the 16-year-old Dahiya's total score over two days stands at four-under 140. Ishnidh Virdi from Bengaluru carded a one-under 71, placing him in a tie for second with overnight leader Vihaan Jain, who ended the day at three-under 141 after a two-over 74. Chaitanya Pandey, shooting a 70, is in fourth place, while Harjai Milkha Singh, the Order of Merit leader, is three shots behind at one-over 145.


Dahiya's Performance

Dahiya started strong, showcasing impressive accuracy with his drives and approach shots, which created numerous birdie chances. However, he struggled with his putting, missing three early opportunities. He faced a frustrating lip-out on the 12th hole and missed a 15-foot birdie attempt on the 15th. Despite these setbacks, he managed to secure a birdie on the seventh hole with a 10-foot putt.


Virdi's Comeback

After a rocky start, Virdi rebounded on the back nine, finishing with a 71. He was two over after the first nine holes but managed to birdie the first, sixth, and seventh holes.


Other Category Leaders

In Category 'B' (ages 13-14), Chaitanya Pandey leads with a two-day total of two-under 142, holding a significant nine-shot lead over Aditya Misra, who scored 78. In Category 'C' (ages 11-12), Delhi's Shan Alvi leads with a score of five-over 149.
