Exciting International Line-Up for APL Season 2
The upcoming season of the Archery Premier League (APL) promises an impressive array of talent, featuring five Olympic medalists, world champions, and former world number ones alongside India's top archers in Hyderabad.
Star-Studded International Roster
The competition will see participation from notable archers such as Turkey's Olympic champion Mete Gazoz, Brazil's Marcus D'Almeida, Dutch compound expert Mike Schloesser, Great Britain's Ella Gibson, and Mexico's Alejandra Valencia. This diverse group will enhance the league's dynamic 15-second shooting format.
Mete Gazoz (Rajputana Royals)
Representing the defending champions, Rajputana Royals, Gazoz made history as Turkey's first Olympic archery champion at the Tokyo 2020 Games. He further solidified his status by winning the World Championship title in 2023. At 27, Gazoz is a former world No. 1 and has multiple World Cup stage victories, including a men's team bronze at Paris 2024.
Marcus D'Almeida (Chola Chiefs)
D'Almeida will compete for the Chola Chiefs, showcasing his remarkable achievements in recurve archery. He became the first Brazilian to attain the world No. 1 ranking in 2023 and has earned three World Championship medals—silver in 2021 and 2025, and bronze in 2023. Additionally, he clinched the World Cup Final title in 2023 and was honored as World Archery's Best Archer of the Year.
Mike Schloesser (Mighty Marathas)
The Mighty Marathas will feature Dutch compound star Mike Schloesser, known as 'Mister Perfect.' He made history as the first archer to achieve a perfect score of 600 in compound archery. A former world No. 1 and World Champion, Schloesser has also won multiple World Cup Finals.
Ella Gibson (Rajputana Royals)
The Rajputana Royals will also include Ella Gibson, the world No. 1 women's compound archer. Gibson has secured numerous World Cup stage titles and a World Cup Final victory, holding the world record for a 15-arrow match. Her rapid shooting style is expected to align well with the APL's fast-paced format.
Alejandra Valencia (Mighty Marathas)
Valencia will enhance the Mighty Marathas' recurve team. A three-time Olympian, she has earned bronze medals in mixed team events at Tokyo 2020 and women's team events at Paris 2024, along with a silver medal at the World Championships.
Global Experience Meets Indian Talent
