Andre Agassi to Headline Major Pickleball Event in Kuala Lumpur
Exciting Pickleball Showcase in Malaysia
Tennis icon Andre Agassi is gearing up to participate in a significant pickleball event in Kuala Lumpur this April, as part of the JOOLA Titans Tour 2026. Scheduled for April 7 and 8 at the renowned Merdeka 118, this two-day tournament is expected to be one of the largest pickleball events in Malaysia, showcasing the sport's rapid growth in Asia.
The event aims to combine high-level competition with fan interaction and community initiatives. A highlight will be the attempt to host what is claimed to be the highest pickleball match ever in Malaysia, featuring Agassi's team against a squad led by pickleball champion Ben Johns, who is celebrated for his impressive record of over 190 gold medals and numerous Triple Crown titles in professional pickleball.
Joining Agassi and Johns will be a talented lineup of international players, including Anna Bright, Federico Staksrud, and Tyson McGuffin, emphasizing the expanding global talent pool in pickleball. The event will also feature regional athletes from Asia and Australia, such as Andie Dikosavljevic, Ken Tam, and Japan’s Kenta Miyoshi and Aiko Yoshitomi.
Activities will kick off at Stadium Juara in Mont Kiara, where exhibition matches will precede the main event. On the evening of April 7, attendees can look forward to an extravagant display of lights, drones, and fireworks, transforming Kuala Lumpur’s skyline into a vibrant celebration of pickleball.
In addition to the competitive matches, the event will focus on grassroots initiatives. On April 8, athletes will participate in community outreach activities throughout the Klang Valley, offering free coaching workshops and opportunities for fans to meet the players, fostering local interest in the sport.
