Following the match, he dedicated his outstanding performance to his sister, Akhand Jyoti, who is currently battling cancer.

Akhand Jyoti is courageously fighting stage three cancer. She expressed her surprise at Akashdeep's heartfelt dedication, stating, "I had no idea he would say something like this. We weren't really prepared to discuss it publicly, but the way he became emotional and dedicated this to me is significant. It shows how much he loves our family and me. Despite the situation at home, he performed exceptionally well and took wickets, which is a big deal. I am the one he is closest to."

Recalling their last meeting before his England tour, Jyoti mentioned that she met Akashdeep at the airport and encouraged him to focus on his cricket. She said, "It's a matter of pride for India that he took 10 wickets. Before the tour, I told him not to worry about me and to do well for the country. I am in stage three, and the doctors have said that treatment will last for six months, after which we will reassess."
