Ajay Devgn Meets Telangana Chief Minister


Hyderabad: Actor Ajay Devgn recently visited the residence of Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in New Delhi, expressing a strong interest in creating a top-tier film studio in the state.


As per the Chief Minister’s Office, Devgn proposed the establishment of a film studio that meets international standards, featuring advanced Animation, VFX, and AI-driven smart studios.


Additionally, he showed enthusiasm for launching a skill development center aimed at training individuals in various sectors of the film industry.


Devgn urged the Chief Minister to provide the necessary support for the studio's establishment, emphasizing Telangana's potential as a leading hub for cinema infrastructure in India. He envisions contributing to the film ecosystem by integrating global expertise and state-of-the-art technology.


Chief Minister Revanth Reddy updated Devgn on the initiatives being undertaken by the Telangana Government to foster development across various sectors, including media and entertainment.


Devgn praised the state's proactive measures and committed to promoting 'Rising Telangana' through cinema and media.


The meeting also included Ajit Reddy, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Dr. Gaurav Uppal, Secretary for Coordination of Central Schemes.


In a separate meeting, former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev also met with the Chief Minister in New Delhi.


They discussed plans for establishing a Sports University in Hyderabad aimed at fostering sports excellence and developing future champions.


Earlier, the Chief Minister had a discussion with Union Minister for Labour, Employment, Youth Affairs, and Sports, Mansukh L. Mandaviya, where he proposed hosting the Khelo India Games 2026 in Telangana.


During this meeting, the Chief Minister requested the allocation of hosting rights for the Khelo India Games 2026 and emphasized the need for Telangana to be considered for hosting prestigious national and international sporting events.


He also highlighted the importance of developing sports infrastructure in Telangana and sought central funding for comprehensive sports facilities and athlete training programs under the Khelo India initiative.


The Chief Minister proposed a budget of Rs 100 crore for essential infrastructure projects, including a synthetic athletic track in Bhuvanagiri, a multipurpose indoor stadium and swimming pool in Rayagiri, and various other sports facilities across the state.


He reiterated the Telangana State Government's commitment to improving sports facilities and nurturing athletic talent, appealing for increased cooperation and support from the Central Government.


Revanth Reddy also requested that Telangana be considered for hosting at least two events during the 2036 Olympic Games if they take place in India.


Furthermore, he called for the reinstatement of fare concessions for athletes traveling by train to national-level competitions, a practice that was previously in place.
