AIFF and ISL Clubs Discuss Future of 2025-26 Season Amid Uncertainty
AIFF Engages with ISL Clubs on Season Concerns
New Delhi, August 15: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) convened with legal representatives from Indian Super League (ISL) clubs on Thursday to tackle the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the commencement of the 2025-26 ISL season.
During the meeting, it was decided that the issues raised by the ISL clubs regarding the delayed start of the season and the challenges faced by players and other stakeholders would be presented to the Hon'ble Supreme Court for consideration next week.
In a statement shared on X, the AIFF noted, “A discussion took place on August 14, 2025, between the legal teams of the AIFF and ISL clubs. All parties have agreed to inform the Supreme Court about the concerns regarding the season's delay and the hardships experienced by players and stakeholders.”

On the following day, the AIFF revealed it had received a joint letter from 11 ISL clubs requesting that the Supreme Court be informed about the prevailing uncertainty regarding the league's future.
The federation responded to the clubs on August 13, suggesting a meeting between the legal representatives of both parties to discuss the matter and determine the next steps.
