AIFF Adopts New Constitutional Provisions

New Delhi, November 24: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has officially adopted Article 25.3 (c) and (d) of its Constitution, following the directives from the Supreme Court of India. This significant step resolves a long-standing issue that has been pending since 2017.


In a statement released by the federation, it was noted, “On November 24, 2025, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has formally adopted Article 25.3 (c) and (d) of the Constitution as mandated by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, in accordance with its order dated October 15, 2025.”


With this adoption, the AIFF confirmed that its Constitution is now fully compliant with the Supreme Court's directives and the recommendations made by Justice (Retd) L. Nageswara Rao.


“Consequently, the AIFF Constitution is now in line with the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India’s directions and the framework suggested by Justice (Retd) L Nageswara Rao. This effectively resolves a matter that has been pending since 2017,” the statement elaborated.


The AIFF also took the opportunity to express its gratitude.


“The AIFF extends its heartfelt appreciation to all stakeholders and contributors whose dedication and cooperation were crucial for the successful completion of this process,” it stated.


Reiterating its commitment to uphold global football standards, the federation emphasized its intention to operate in accordance with international governing bodies.
